Filmfare Awards constitute one of the most honored award ceremonies for the people associated with the Hindi Film Industry. The awards, given by the Filmfare magazine, acknowledge the hard work and dedication of people who work towards making a movie smash hit. Filmfare, initially, had a common award for male and female playback singing. Later on, it was realized that songs are very much relevant to the success of a movie. This led to the creation of separate category of awards, comprising of one award for the male single and one for the female singer. The glamorous world of Hindi Cinema abounds in female singers who, with their vocal magic, have endowed numerous movies with hit numbers. We have given a list of female singers who have bagged ‘Filmfare Best Female Playback Award’,for their excellence in the field of singing.
