The MTV VMAs stayed on New York for another year and in 1995 got the Emmy award winning, super intellectual comedian Dennis Miller to host the show. This year the show had adrenalin filled performances from both Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi. Michael Jackson stole the limelight in the first half tearing up the stage with a medley of his hits Billie Jean, Beat It, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and Black or White. If that wasn’t enough of a show stopper, Slash(Lead guitars, Guns N Roses) came on stage and whipped up a tornado with his legendary riffs. 

When it came to the Moonmen, Alternative rock band Weezer and R&B trio TLC snapped up four awards each. Siblings, Michael and Janet Jackson shared three awards for their collaboration on Scream and went home with Best Dance Video, Best Art Direction and Best Choreography. TLC walked away with both Video of the Year and Viewer’s choice awards. This year the VMAs had put up a spectacular line of performances. MTV had roped in Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Alanis Morisette, and Greenday. Award winners, Hootie and The Blowfish and TLC, both performed their hits and fans were delighted to watch Bon Jovi perform live for the VMAs from Times Square. 

The night had its share of moments, when Courtney Love interrupted a post-show interview with Madonna by throwing her make up to the stage where the interview was being held. She later came up, shook hands with Madonna and though visibly inebriated, Courtney continued to commandeer the conversation till things had its way. Not a bad night, the VMAs did not disappoint- once again.
