Since 1998, Zee Cine Awards has established itself as the most prestigious award for Bollywood. The awards are presented to the artists for excellence in the field of Indian Cinema and Music. Zee Cine Awards 2002 is also known as- Fair View Zee Cine Awards or 5th Zee Cine Awards 2002.The ceremony was held on 11 January 2002 at Centaur Hotel in Mumbai. Saif Ali Khan was the host for the evening. Film “Lagaan” bagged multiple cine awards for the year. The Indian film director and producer, Shakti Samanta was announced the winner of the Lifetime Achiever award.
