The star studded Screen Awards were initiated by Mr. Viveck Goenka in 1994. The awards stay distinct from other Film Fare Awards, as they are presented to the film fraternity by a panel selected from the film fraternity itself. The screen awards are the only Indian film awards which include the Executive Director and the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Screen Best Dialogue Award was presented to Abhijat Joshi and Rajkumar Hirani for the musical comedy film ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ in 2006. The film popularizes Gandhism and therefore had a strong impact on India.
