The grand Star Screen Awards were first presented in the year 1994. The screen awards stand out from other Indian film awards as the awards are presented to the film fraternity by the eminent jury appointed from within the film fraternity. The Star Screen Award for Best Editing was introduced in the year 1994. The inaugural award was bagged by Mukhtar Ahmed for the bollywood film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’.
