The National Film Awards are the oldest and most prominent film award ceremony in India. A panel is appointed by the government to select the winning entry every year. The awards are presented by the President of India in New Delhi. Since 1973, the awards are administrated by the Indian government’s Directorate of Film Festivals. The ‘Best Film Critic’ award was first introduced in the year 1989 and the award was bagged by KNT Sansary for the year.
