The Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance was handed out from 1980 to 1991. From 1980 to 2008 the award was presented as the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Fusion Performance, Vocal or Instrumental. Jazz Musician Pat Methany won the award for his solo effort in 1983 and then went on to win the award four more times with his band- Pat Metheny Band.
