The Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Female was handed out from 1981 to 1991.The award was combined with the award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male and awarded as Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 1985. It was reverted back to individual awards for men and women in 1986, until 1992 when it was changed once again to one award. The “First Lady of Song” Ella Fitzgerald is the most honored artist in this category with four wins.
