The Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video has been handed out since 1984. It was introduced along with the Best Short Form Music Video. In 1988 and 1989 the award criteria was changed and the awards were presented as Best Concept Music Video and Best Performance Music Video. In 1984 and 1985 the title of the award was Best Video Album. It was changed in 1986 to Best Music Video, Long Form. In 1998 the currently used title, Best Long Form Music Video was adapted.
