Amidst all the categories of Oscar awards, presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), 'Best Picture' is amongst the most important ones. A movie is the outcome of the best collaborative efforts of the producer, director, actors, writers and lots of other artists.
'Oscar for Best Picture' is the only category in which every member of the Academy is eligible not only to vote on the final ballot, but also to nominate entrees. During the event, this category is reserved as the final award and is generally collected on-stage by the film's producer and director.
