The Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album was first handed out in 1968 and then since 1995. It was known as Best Contemporary Album in 1968. The title was changed to Best Pop Album in 1995 when it was given for the second time. It was changed once again to the current title Best Pop Vocal Album, in 2001.
