The Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album has been handed out since 1991. It was awarded as Best Rock/Contemporary Gospel Album for the first three years since its inception. It was changed to its current title in 1994. The Virginia based music trio dc Talk and gospel rock leaders Third Day and Petra have all received the awards a total of four times in this category.
