The Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance has been handed out since 1999.For the first four years, from 1999 to 2002 the award was known as the Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Album. The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin is the only artist to have won the award twice in this category.
