The glitzy Filmfare Awards were constituted by Filmfare magazine in the year 1954. The awards were initially referred as ‘The Clares’ after Clare Mendonca (Filmfare critic). Since then, the awards have grown big by including several other categories into the filmfare awards list. The readers of the Filmfare magazine select the winners for the awards.
