The Filmfare Awards are considered as one of the most prominent and oldest awards of bollywood. The awards were first handed out in the year 1954. Since then all the award ceremonies have been organized with loads of glamour and glitz. The awards were established to honor best talent in the Hindi cinema industry. The winners of the prestigious awards are chosen through the popular votes cast by the public. The 52nd Fair One Filmfare Awards were held on 2nd February at Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Shahrukh Khan, Karan Johar, Preity Zinta, and Juhi Chawla were the hosts for the evening. The film ‘Rang De Basanti’ (directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra) grabbed the highest number of awards for the year. The story throws light on the parallels between Indians ruled by the British in the past and Indians ruled by corrupt politicians of today.
