The “Film/TV/Media” Field at the Grammys was introduced to recognize artist(s), composers, song writer(s), and other personnel involved in for the concept and musical direction and for the selection of artists, songs and producers, as applicable specifically for the purpose of use in a motion picture, television or other visual media. Currently there are three categories in the field, they are:
- Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media - The Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media was introduced in 2000. The award was handed out as Best Soundtrack Album in 2000.
- Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media (Previously in the "Composing and Arranging" field) - The Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media was first handed out in 1988.
- Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media (Previously in the "Composing and Arranging" field) - The Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media was first handed out in 1960. The award was presented to the composer of the music alone until 2001.
