The year 2000 saw the grand IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) awards taking shape in bollywood. The ceremony was kick started at the Millennium Dome in London. The IIFA Awards 2000 live telecast was watched by millions across the world. IIFA with its slick production, magnificent sets, and spectacular entertainment won over the hearts of the world in its debut year. The event was witnessed by many famous personalities, which included Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, Thora Birch, Kylie Minogue, Finley Quaye, Miranda Richardson, Sussanah York and many others. During the IIFA 2000 London edition, the IIFA brand ambassador Mr. Amitabh Bachchan became the first ever Indian film star to be honoured with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds wax museum at London.
