The IIFA award ceremonies are a platform which was created in the year 2000 to encourage artists in bollywood at a global level. The 2009 IIFA awards were held at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel from 11th June -13th June 2009. The year celebrated a decade of International Indian Film Academy magic. Bollywood artists Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani were hosts for glitzy evening. The film ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ (directed by Ashutosh Gowariker) swept most of the IIFA awards.
