The IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) awards are considered as one of the biggest and grandest film award shows in bollywood. The inaugural show was held in London in the year 2000 and the IIFA best special effects award was introduced in 2008. Special effects are used in the entertainment industry to create effects that cannot be achieved by normal means. Say for example, a journey to another planet has to be filmed and such things are successfully done with the help of special effects. The first best special effect award was presented to ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ for the film ‘Om Shanti Om’.
