The “Production/Engineering” field was added to the list of fields at the Grammy Awards when the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Recording - Special or Novel Effects was introduced as a category in 1960. All the categories awarded under this field are given below.
- Best Engineered Album, Classical - The Grammy Award for Best Engineered Recording, Classical has been handed out since 1959. It was known as Best Engineered Record (Classical) in 1959. It was titled Best Engineering Contribution - Classical Recording from 1960 to 1962.
- Best Engineered Album - The Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical has been handed out since 1959. The title of the award in the year of its introduction was Best Engineered Record - Non-Classical.
- Best Remixed Recording - The Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical has been handed out since 2002.From 1998 to 2001 it was awarded as Grammy Award for Remixer of the Year, Non-Classical.
- Producer of the Year, Classical - The Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Classical has been handed out since 1980. From 1980 till 1998 the award was known as The Grammy Award for Classical Producer of the Year.
- Producer of the Year, Non-Classical - The Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical has been handed out since 1975. For the first three years the award was known as Best Producer of the Year.
