The Golden Globes are being recognized as a cross between the Academy Awards and the Emmys with its rising popularity in the film and television world. Since 1956 the Golden Globes have separate sections to honor those in the film industry and those in the television industry. The HFPA even brought in different categories to recognize actors and actresses in drama and musical or comedy. The committee and has been committed to avoiding any kind of biased decisions as well. There are 24 different categories that are awarded at the Golden Globes; there are 16 Motion Picture categories and 11 for television. They are as follows:
