Zee Telefilms Limited was the first telecaster to envisage the importance of a Bollywood award show. Hence the Indian Cinema industry saw the creation of Zee Cine Awards in the year 1998. In 2004, ZCA escalated the standards and took the event onto the global stage and the year was inscribed on the pages of award shows history. The jury organized by Zee Entertainment Enterprises elects and announces the winners at the ceremony. Kajol was the first female to win this award for the film “Gupt: The Hidden Truth”.
